How to Choose the Right Stylist
Mood Boards Are The New Vision Boards
"What stylist is right for me?"
This question pops up quite often, usually with people who are just beginning to consider working with one, but aren't sure where to start or how to choose the best person for them. It's such an intimate and personal service, with so much emotion involved, and with so many hopes pinned on the outcome.
Are You Dressing Down, When You Should Be Dressing Up?
Here at The Stylery Co, for a long time now, I’ve been creating my own version of fashion vision boards, which I call Mood Boards. I make them for each client I see, as a way to visualise the style concepts they are aiming for.
It's Flashback Time...
This might seem like a weird thing to ask - but it's actually so common among the women I work with. I think it's something that many women in general struggle with, so naturally, I want to talk about it.
Strategic Sales Shopping
Completely by accident, we both happened to turn up in bold, colourful statement prints; and yet, we look so entirely different. Both of our outfits were purchased during travels - she picked up this fantastic jumpsuit from a boutique in Zanzibar, while my skirt was a purchase from an Anthropologie store in LA.
Clothing, shoes, accessories, jewellery, and more… when it goes on sale, it can be so tempting to just buy one of everything. When we see those huge signs saying 70% OFF, bright red and flapping, or pasted all over the windows - I mean, how are we meant to say no?
But just because something is heavily discounted, doesn't mean it's a good buy.
